ABOUT PRINCE RUPERT
Prince Rupert is well known as one of the best fishing locations on the Pacific. There are several reasons for this. One is that it is at a bottleneck of many different runs of salmon, from Southeast, Alaska, to the Nass and Skeena runs, even fish from the Fraser, and Columbia rivers. This provides some stellar salmon fishing.
There is also plenty of good structure for bottom fish. If you’re targeting Rockfish, Ling Cod, and Halibut, there are many spots that produce quality fish.
One great feature about fishing the Prince Rupert region is it’s sheltered waters. Very few days are lost too bad weather because of the many sheltered options available, provided one can safely get there. On windy days, it might be a bit of a bounce across the sound, but once you arrive at the right location calmer waters for more enjoyable experience can be found.
Purchase a Tidal Waters license With Salmon Stamp. Be sure your license is valid for the dates you will be fishing.
Be sure to Print both pages (can be one page both sides) for your license to be valid, and have it with you. (Printed is preferred over Electronic version as we may not always have cellular coverage).
